New Leagues starting this month

The Winter season is upon us, and January is a great time to join a league at SBC.  We have leagues for adults and kids all starting this month, and we are sure we have a place for YOU!  Looking for inexpensive fun?  Try the Wednesday Mixers on Wednesdays at 6:30pm – just $10 a week per person and everyone gets an SBC gift card at the end.  Need the weekend?  Then join our Friday 2 x 2 Mixed, with 2 men & 2 women on each team.  This league is also lots of fun and great for couples needing to bowl on a weekend night.

Need to raise funds for your group or organization?  Then try our FUNdraiser Club, with two nights to choose from – bowl either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 6:00pm.  Bring yourself and 4 friends and bowl 2 games each week for just $10 a week.  At the end of the 10-week season, your group/charity/organization will receive a check for $250.  It really is THAT easy!

Finally, our youth start up again this coming Saturday with the 12 & under kids bowling at 9:00am, and the 13 & older set starting at 11:00am.  The cost is an affordable $9.00 each week for 14 weeks, and every kid receives a trophy at the end of the season.  Call us for more information on any of our leagues – (615) 355-0501 – or, sign up TODAY on our “Leagues” page here at the website.  We look forward to seeing lots of new faces this month!

Jedlicki’s sweep Youth No-Tap Titles

After leading the qualifying rounds in both divisions, cousins Aaron & Danielle Jedlicki only had to win one game in the stepladder finals to secure first place in the 2011 Youth Thanksgiving No-Tap Tournament.  And both young bowlers did just that, with Danielle taking the Bantam/Prep title and Aaron winning the Junior/Senior division.  Six of the ten finalists in the tournament were Smyrna youth bowlers, including our champions.  Congrats also to Sarah Sanes (2nd), Zach Barrett (4th), & Blake Hart (5th) in the B/P division, and to Brittany Sisco (5th) in the J/S division.  Full results can be found on the Tournaments page – click on the “300” icon next to the tournament logo in November.

Aaron Jedlicki won a $500 scholarship for his victory in the 13 & older division, and Danielle Jedlicki $400 for her win in the 12 & under group.  A total of $2,150 in scholarships was awarded in this year’s event.  Thanks to everyone who bowled in our tournament this year!!

2011 Southern Gold Shootout promises to be the most exciting yet!

The 2011 Southern Gold Shootout will renew again this year on September 3-4, 2011.  This year’s tournament promises to be the most exciting yet with a new format for Junior Gold qualifying.  Each day of the tournament will crown a Junior Gold winner in both male and female divisions.  The winners from both days will bowl head-to-head for $200 in expense money!  This doubles the amount of spots awarded in previous years and adds even more excitement to the tournament.

The scholarship portion of the tournament remains the same with bowlers trying to reach the top six scores in both the male and female divisions.  Additionally, bowlers can re-enter in the scholarship portion of the tournament to try and get into the top six spots. Furthermore, the guaranteed 1st place scholarship has risen to $500 for the winning male and female, and the $3,000 for a 300 game remains an elusive but tantalizing prize.  Tournament directors hope to expand the impressive field of entries from last year’s tournament which included bowlers from:  Massachusetts, Minnesota, Virginia, Oklahoma, New York, Illinois, Alabama, North and South Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee.  For more information please contact Kelly Marlin at or call 615-355-0501.
