Local star and SBC’s own Kyle Barnes added to his resume and his wallet tonight at the lanes, as he rolled the first 29 strikes in-a-row in the Ultimate Cash Trios League before leaving a lone 10-pin, then struck out for an 879 series. This set tied the Tennessee state record for individual high series, held by Billy Moss of Nashville. He also hit all of the necessary frames to take home the current jackpot in the “Strike It Rich” contest, which was $6,425.00!
Kyle has won numerous awards as a youth and collegiate bowler. Barnes won State Titles with his Smyrna HS team in 2005 & 2006, and was also named “Mr Bowling” both those years. Also in 2006, Kyle won the $15,000 first place scholarship in the North Pointe Insurance Youth Singles Tournament in Minnesota. And then just two short years ago, he capped his collegiate career by winning the 2011 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship.
Kyle continues to bowl well in the adult ranks, as tonight’s performance showed. Congratulations Kyle Barnes!!
